Sudhir Choudhrie is one of the individuals in the world that understands the true meaning of second chances in life. From the age of eight, Sudhir Choudhrie has had to battle with a heart condition. Therefore, he has had to live as a highly vulnerable person for the rest of his life but not any of his health challenges would deny him the focus to succeed. Despite the health challenges, he went on to found Magnum Trading Company Limited in 1975. With the company, he gave himself a chance to pursue a business in the exports industry. Magnum became the beginning of a series of career opportunities for Sudhir because he went on to work with companies like Taj Hotels and afterward Adidas AG.
As a businessman always after opportunities, when a chance to invest in an airline presented itself in 2003, Sudhir Choudhrie decided to invest in Air Deccan; this venture became a people’s favorite in India because of the affordable prices. All this while Sudhir did not enjoy a healthy life because he almost died two separate times. For Sudhir, his life-saving moment came in 1999 when he finally got a heart transplant. The transplant was like a miracle because he was on his death bed when a donor was found. Because of the compassion of the deceased donor’s family, Sudhir could have a second chance at life.
After the transplant, Sudhir Choudhrie has proceeded to lead a healthy and long life which is unlike other transplant recipients across the world. The Guinness Book of Records has put his name down on record because not many recipients live to be over 70. From his experience, he decided to found the Sudhir Choudhrie Foundation. Through the organization, he can support other people with heart conditions. He also is one of the biggest advocates of organ donations.
