If you ask any high school aged student where they will be when they are an adult not many would answer “working for the same company”. People often start a job at a store or food franchise while in high school, may maintain employment through college and then begin working at the corporate offices or fields they studied for. This is not true for Papa John’s new CEO Steve Ritchie.
In January of 2019 and the age of 43, he was promoted to the roll of Chief Executive Officer but his career did not start in a high-ranking office position within the Papa John’s pizza industry. Steve Ritchie began working for Papa John’s in 1996. His first job was as a customer service representative and he made a meager $6.00 per hour. He worked his way through the ranks and became a delivery driver and then store manager. Mr. Ritchie’s new CEO position will bring him into the mainstream in a different way. While he will still be interacting with customers it will be on a marketing platform that will enable him to become digitally involved with the aspects of the customer service equation for both franchise locations and customers.
