The Robinson line of products is a testament to Robinson Helicopter’s commitment to innovation, quality, safety, and excellence since it was established in 1941. Robinson has since provided more than four million safe, secure, and efficient flights for millions of people and through these aircraft Robinson has forever changed the way people fly. We pride ourselves on our dedication to not only helping people take to the skies, but also helping people get to where they want to go safely and efficiently.
An increasingly diversified line of Robinson products mean that employees are spread across the company’s three manufacturing facilities in Torrance, Columbus, and Ontario, California. All of Robinson’s assembly line workers are represented by United Auto Workers Local #261. Although the company’s pension and health care plans are collectively bargained, employees with 30 or more years of service can retire with a package that includes a monthly pension.
Robinson offers several employee-related benefits, including medical, dental, life insurance, and dental and vision coverage. Robinson contributes a portion of each employee’s salary towards a retirement account. The company has a 401(k) program and a 401(k) matching program. Thousands of Robinson employees have served in the U.S. armed forces. The company, located less than 15 miles from its birthplace, continues to support U.S. servicemen and servicewomen with fundraising events. Many have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, providing transport and logistical support.
Robinson’s business growth has depended largely on the efforts of employees who work in highly specialized fields. The quality and reliability of the Robinson helicopter is owed in large part to its mechanics. Robinson has grown into a global concern, and its corporate culture has adapted to help its new employees adapt to its new environment.

To support and integrate the California Helicopters business, Robinson has also acquired a new facility in Torrance to expand its South Coast facility to support helicopter and aerospace. The company also launched a $25 million helicopter innovation fund to fund the development of new technology. From the time of its launch in 1972, the Robinson R66 has been recognized as a cutting-edge technology-filled aircraft. Many improvements have been made since its launch, including the Robinson A320 R26 and the updated Robinson R66R.
