Profile of Non Profit Executive Georgette Mulheir

A couple of years ago, world leaders signed an agreement with the United Nations. This agreement known as the Sustainable Development Goals set goals to help reduce the amount of violence against children and improve nutrition and overall health for them. It also agreed to improve their education as well. The main slogan of this agreement was to leave no children behind. However, in 2017, the world’s great leaders evaluated the progress of the agreement and found out that there are still many children being left behind. Many of these children live away from their families and are left alone to fend for themselves. Most of these children are orphaned as a result. One of the reasons why these children are left behind is because they are not tracked by data. In other words, children who are away from their families are off the grid and cannot be tracked. Since some of these children are not tracked properly, the United Nations cannot determine if the child has been given shelter and care. With this recent trend, world leaders are now working towards developing programs that more efficiently track the whereabouts and status of these children. World leaders are now looking to develop additional support services in order to better reach out to the most vulnerable populations.

Recently many charitable organizations have worked together to help world leaders find these missing children and get them the care that they need. One of the ways that they will look to help these children is by using more advanced data gathering methods. They will begin using technology to help track children and help them get their lives back to normal. Since many of these children are separated from their family due to war, poverty, and discrimination, world leaders can focus on making an effort to eliminate these social problems as well. One of the individuals responsible for this new effort is Georgette Mulheir. She is the former chief executive officer of an organization called Lumos. This organization focused on ending the institutionalization of orphaned children. With the development of her organization, Georgette Mulheir has made progress in helping other organizations and countries work towards reuniting children with their families. Mulheir has also been involved with other well-known organizations such as Amnesty International in an effort to help improve the lives of those who are experiencing hardship.
