Paula Wallace started SCAD in 1978 and currently serves as its president.

Before she started, Paula Wallace SCAD worked in Atlanta as a public-school teacher. While working as a school teacher, she assumed multiple roles such as nurse, parent, educator, interior designer, curriculum designer, public speaker, ringleader, entertainer, external relations master, and public speaker.
