Bhanu Choudhrie, a London based business executive who also happens to be the founder and Executive Director for C&C Alpha, an investment firm with location in both London and New Delhi, conducted an interview with This Is Money, an English financial website.
The interview opens up with discussing his 2008 win of the Asian Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Bhanu Choudhrie discusses how much it meant to him that he won the award and is very gracious that he was being recognized for his diligent work. He then explains C&C’s primary business strategy of primarily focusing on the real estate and hospitality industries, something he takes a lot of pleasure in due to the joy it generally brings people in addition to all of the various professionals e meets through hotels. Bhanu Choudhrie then describes his company’s investment into a small one-plane airport in 2003 which grew to flying over 7 million people and more than 200 flights a day by the time he sold it in 2008, exemplifying why he won the aforementioned award. He goes onto say that it was one of his riskiest investments due to the financial volatility airlines tend to have but instead lead to a boom in aviation throughout India.
Bhanu Choudhrie then goes into explaining his membership on the board of New Century Bank which he explains his interest in venturing further into the financial sector of business and his position being a great opportunity to do so. This leads into discussing his charity work where he reveals actually started when he was child and would visit and assist the less fortunate, not only as a value instilled by his Hindu philosophy but also from his mother’s teachings which lead to the growth her charity organization which conducts missions in the United Kingdom.
The interview wraps up with discussion of future plans for C&C Alpha such as further investment into the hospitality industry such as more hotels in addition to charity growth. He finishes things off by hinting of potential Far East expansion into Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand as well.
