AJM is known to be one of the highest quality paper product companies in the United States. This is a company that was formed by three brothers more than 60 years ago. AJM Packaging is still family operated and owned. The company began operating in Detroit, Michigan, and it is still headquartered there. In his interview, he spoke about the policies that the company was putting into place in order to keep up with production while still maintaining a safe working environment. Since workers are required to work indoors, they all have to get their temperature checked before they are allowed to go to work. Apart from that, they are all given masks and gloves to wear while they are working. Since the Detroit area has suffered sever blows due to the Coronavirus, all workers are encouraged to be highly vigilant in order to protect the work environment and their families.
A Bonus for Workers
Since paper products are in high demand, AJM Packaging was named a “critical company.” With this in mind, the company wanted to give workers an incentive bonus in order to show appreciation for their hard work. This is a bonus that is given to those employees who work in the metro locations. In order to receive a bonus, a person has to show up regularly to work over a 90-day period of time. The amount of the bonus varies, and the maximum amount is $1000.
