Based on the 1980’s film, Bronco Billy, the modern-day musical adaptation has become a Los Angeles success. After being contacted by Dennis Hackin, the film’s co-producer and writer, Chip Rosenbloom and co-writer John Torres began developing the music and lyrics. Directed by Hunter Bird, Bronco Billy — The Musical premiered at the Skylight Theatre Company in 2019. This was also a groundbreaking event for Skylight, being the very first musical to grace its stages.

As a filmmaker, composer, and songwriter, Chip Rosenbloom has an extensive career in entertainment. A New York City native, he graduated from University of South California’s Film School and continued on to produce twenty-five motion pictures. Rosenbloom also actively continues his work as a composer. The Budapest Symphony recently recorded an instrumental album of his compositions entitled Artstra. Bronco Billy marks the first musical venture for Rosenbloom. From the critic and audience reviews, it is clear that Rosenbloom chose wisely and out-performed with his premiere musical endeavor.
