Eric Lefkofsky has always gone his own way & never looked back but is this what has led to all the success he has had over the years? Well, he seems to think so. The 51-year-old businessman, husband, and father were born & raised in Southfield, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit & went on to be one of the best students in his class. This is how he was able to have his pick of any of the best schools in the nation. In the end, however, he knew that UM was the right path for him. When he was done with his college courses, he stayed there so he could pursue his JD. After turning his back on his academic career, he went on to start a clothing factory but this soon went under after they failed to turn a profit on it
. From there, he went on to be the founder & CEO of inner workings but left after 3 years to pursue other avenues of interest. Finally, in 2015, he opted to create a business aimed at finding a cure for cancer known as Tempus. They began with just 700 people on staff but have since expanded the enterprise to include more than 1000 employees in total. Most recently, they have raised $200 million to aid them in their fight against cancer, bringing their fundraising total to $6 billion. Eric Lefkofsky now lives in the greater Chicago area with his wife and three kids.
