One of the most innovative minds in digital media, Ross Levinsohn has played an integral role in the expansion of some of the most notable companies in the US.
He is a natural entrepreneur, equipped with the token curiosity, drive and insight that pushes the greatest minds to take unprecedented strides in the worlds of tech and media. His entrepreneurial spirit is genuine, and this is evident by his experience with giants like Sports Illustrated and Fox as well as many small start-ups of which he is a keen investor.
His first waves were made while working as the President of Fox Interactive Media. This digital branch of the company was grown exponentially under his leadership, creating a more engaging and interactive environment which expanded their marketing reach by leaps and bounds.
This invaluable experience lead him to other roles among respected brands like Guggenheim Digital Media and Tribune Interactive where he served both as CEO.
Most noted, though, was his role as interim CEO at Yahoo, where he served for two years while simultaneously holding the title of Head of Global Media. While this role ended when he was replaced by Marissa Mayer, he returned to place a bid on the core business of Yahoo in 2016. He noted, however, that the company was in dire need of much work and it was ultimately sold to Verizon in 2017 for a much lower price than anticipated.
Currently, Mr. Levinsohn is serving as CEO of Maven, a new technology platform that serves as a host for various independent media brands. In this position at Maven he is working directly with Sports Illustrated as CEO as well, bringing the two together to expand SI’s digital reach across the nation.
Ross Levinsohn has racked up an impressive record of accomplishments in just 15 years, helping to make strides in a huge national transition from traditional media to digital media.
