Stephen Bittel has been the CEO of Terranova that he founded over 40 years ago. This year, in spite of the pandemic, Bittel is busy developing cores all over Miami, Fla. The thought of the pandemic effect was predicted to bring a halt to urban development and send people back to the suburbs.
The naysayers did not count on the thoughtful building plans of Stephen Bittel. Bittel has the sharp instincts to know that the younger generation sees the benefits of living in urban areas. Mr. Bittel purchased urban properties in areas like Coral Gables and Miami Beach to build up. By 2019, Bittel and Terranova put in a bid for Mile Hotel and their shops. The project is a key 120 development project that has seven stories of mixed space used for hotel rooms, stores, and office space. Mr. Bittel noticed in the early 2000s that the young generation was purchasing older homes and renovating them instead of buying new homes. Stephen Bittel has his mind on the needs of the Miami community. He believes that if it is good for the community, it is good for the company. In the event of the pandemic, Bittel is interested in constructing open-air kind of enviornment to survive in the new normal.
Stephen Bittel is a third generation resident of Miami, Fla. Bittel wanted to originally become a lawyer like his grandfather. After Working part-time in real-estate, while in college, Bittel preferred the real-estate business. The real-estate mogul from Bowdoin College in Maine with bachelor degrees in economics and applied law, graduating magna cum laude. Although Bittel is in the real-estate business, he did pass the bar exam and can practice law. Stephen Bittel uses his legal skills to ethically operate Terranova.
