James Dondero is the chief executive officer and the president of NexPoint Advisors. He has good experience in the market. Before he founded the Highland in 1993, he had earlier served as a Chief Investment Officer of Protective Life’s GIC, which helped him consider huge profits within four years.
James Dondero had a vast experience in the field of business. The areas of expertise included; investment-grade corporates, high yield- bonds, derivatives, real estate, common stock, and preferred stock and emerging market debt.
Jim Dondero received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University Of Virginia School of commerce. Here was the place where he obtained certification as a certified public accountant. After receiving the certification, he went the extra mile to earn the right to utilize the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Apart from his chairmanship in NexPoint Residential Trust, he also serves as the chairman of Cornerstone Healthcare Group. James Dondero is among the board of directors in several commercial companies.
In line with his philanthropic activities, he has set up several initiatives to help the less vulnerable in society. He supported the efforts in education, public policy, and other educational affairs in Dallas.
Despite the surge of COVID -19 pandemic, his prime hotel project in Dallas still usually runs its schedules. Highland Capital Management is an affiliate to the company. Several advances have been to the hotel to fully equip it with a pool, restaurants, fitness center, and a bar.
