Peter Briger is a business leader and a financial expert who lives in San Francisco, California. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, and Master’s degree in Business Administration from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. For fifteen years, Briger worked for Goldman, Sachs & Co and later on became a partner of the same organization in the year 1996.In 2002 he joined Fortress Investment Group and first became a member of Management Committee at Fortress. In November 2006 he became member of the board of directors up until now. Briger is currently the principal and Co-Chairman of the board of directors of Fortress Investment Group.
After the appointed as a member of the board of directors,Briger raised the management funds in Fortress from 1.2 Billion dollars to a figure of 29.9 billion dollars, which was way above a 50 percent increment.Peter Briger takes part in a number of philanthropic and society-driven activities, one of them being on the Silicon Valley Leadership Council for the Global Fund for Children.Additionally,he is a member of Council on Foreign Relations which is a non-profit organization, whose main goal is to broaden the understanding of foreign policy issues among officials and normal citizens.
Peter Briger was one of the people that drove Fortress Investment Group into the real estate sector. Through Softbank is where the experience began which involved the Vision Fund that invested in startups an example is Katerra construction company and Wework Fotress which were involved in the 2.5 billion dollars TSX Broadway development project. Peter Briger gave a hand in purchasing the Tiffany&Co. building located in World Avenue in Florida for 20 million dollars. These among other significant activities took Fortress Investment Group to yet a higher economic level.
