Kfir Gavrieli is the founder and CEO of Tieks, a shoe brand that sells high-quality, foldable women’s ballet flats. Tieks was founded in 2010, and the stylish and comfortable flats are sold exclusively online.
Aside from his role as CEO of Tieks, Kfir Gavrieli is well known as a philanthropist. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he helped provide PPE face shields for LA County Hospitals. He also founded the Gavrieli Foundation, the single largest lender on Kiva. To date, the Gavrieli Foundation has contributed over $10,000,000 to over 55,000 women entrepreneurs in over 70 countries. As a leader, Kfir strives to empower other entrepreneurs and underprivileged women.

Forbes Magazine recognized Tieks as one of the 25 Most Innovative Consumer Brands,
Entrepreneur listed the company as one of the Top 30 Startups to Watch, and Oprah’s show featured the foldable flats on her “O List.” Additionally, Kfir Gavrieli made Ink.’s 30 Under 30 list.
Charitable Acts
Kfir’s company, Tieks, has a strong emphasis on philanthropic work. Kfir Gavrieli created the Gavrieli Foundation, which focuses on women’s empowerment. Through Kiva, the Gavrieli Foundation provides microloans to women entrepreneurs living in poverty around the world.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Gavrieli came up with the “Operation #SewTogether” campaign. This campaign incentivized Tieks audience to sew and donate face masks to healthcare workers. The campaign resulted in over 1 million masks made across the United States.
Motivation
Kfir acknowledges that his success is attributable to his strict work ethic. He got his work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit from his immigrant parents, who founded Gavrieli Plastics, a plastics, metal, and sign supply company, after moving to the United States from Israel.
